OSE's Director Dr Samuel Chen participated in organising a session on Future Cities during the 10th World Urban Forum held in Abu Dhabi during 8-13 February 2020

Promoting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and facilitating its fulfilment through local, national and international engagement have been an essential mission of OSE's work, to a large extent, characterising the training courses we offer, e.g., the Oxford Programme for the Future of Cities Summer Course. Since fall 2019, upon the invitation of UN-Habitat, Dr Samuel Chen (OSE's Director as well as Research Fellow and China Liaison at the University of Oxford's Future Cities Network) worked closely with UN-Habitat, and colleagues from within the University of Oxford and Oxfordshire County Council to organise an important session entitled 'Future Cities: New Economy and Shared City Prosperity Driven by Technological Innovations' at the 10th World Urban Forum held in Abu Dhabi during 8 - 13 February 2020. The session, successfully completed, was a result of the joint effort of leading institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, ETH Zürich, the Institute of New Economic Development, Peking University's Institute of New Structural Economics, Tsinghua University,  UK Research and Innovation, UN-Habitat's Urban Economy and Finance Branch, University of Oxford's Future Cities Network, and WeBank.
